It used to be really tricky to get your mits on reasonably-priced one bedroom apartments, right on the Figueretas seafront, with the added attraction of a swimming pool. Well, that all changed when Respect Gay Holidays introduced the Lido Llobet Apartments to the island's gay scene.
These clean and comfortable apartments has been recently refurbished and occupy a fantastic front line position with dreamy views out over the Med, at least from the slightly higher-priced sea view apartments. Made up of two parts - the Lido and the Lido Llobet - most general facilities are found in the Lido and these include a couple of bars, a restaurant and a swimming pool.
Every apartment has a twin bedroom with built in wardrobes and a bedside cabinet for your little latex friends. The bright, well-furnished living room has two sofabeds for a third and fourth punter and is separated from the kitchenette by an American bar. The kitchen equipment provided is quite sufficient for basic self catering requirements and includes a full gas cooker and a large fridge, irons, ironing boards and kettles.
All apartments have their own private bathroom and a balcony, but bear in mind that there's no safe in your apartment. Instead, these are kept in the small reception in the Lido Llobet, so you'll have to be ever so slightly organised with your valuables as this mini reception office is open only during the day. 2008 things changed and there are safes in apartments, and although there is air conditioning now. Maid service takes place twice a week, with towel and linen change once.
If you and your holiday chums like to go your separate ways from time to time, you'll be pleased to know that every guest receives their own key (rather than just one per apartment). This sounds almost insignificant, but is actually extremely convenient as you can go off and do your own thing without having to make complex key arrangements with other members of your party. If you've ever staggered back to your apartment at three in the morning then realised that your mate has gone off with a bit of trade AND YOUR KEY, you'll know what we mean.
