 The discreet, gay friendly Vital Suites Hotel and Spa is the ultimate in luxury and indulgence. Overlooking the Maspalomas sand dunes which are less than 7 minutes' walk away, the hotel is also situated only a short walk from the Yumbo, the island's gay centre.
Surrounded by peace and quiet, with views out across a golf course towards the sea and the Meloneras lighthouse, you could be forgiven for thinking you were staying out in the middle of nowhere.
You can't fail to be impressed by the overall quality of the place. Spotlessly clean, with attentive and friendly staff, you'll be made to feel at home as soon as you check in, with that wonderfully reassuring feeling that, without doubt, you've made an excellent holiday choice.
General Facilities
The Vital Suites are known as a 'Wellness Centre' and, as such, provide you with zillions of opportunities to get down to some serious self-indulgence. There's a hugely relaxing thalasso-pool, kept at a constant 34 degrees (that's centigrade for the benefit of our American friends...Fahrenheit would be just above freezing which is no good to man or beast), but that's just the start of it. There's also a bio-sauna, a Turkish steam bath, vichy showers as well as mud, seaweed and Cleopatra baths.
More traditional facilities include two outdoor pools, a Jacuzzi, a poolside bar, and plenty of room for sunbathing among thoughtfully laid out gardens. Breakfast is buffet style, with a four star choice of hot and cold dishes (included in the cost of your holiday), and the restaurant is open in the evenings for those times when you don't want to stray too far from home.
Elsewhere, you'll be pleased to know that there's a laundry service, internet access and a small gym.
Room Facilities
There are two types of accommodation at the Vital Suites, standard doubles and junior suites. All rooms are air conditioned and beautifully decorated, with the doubles featuring ensuite bathrooms, satellite television, loads of wardrobe space, a mini bar, a safe and a good sized balcony.
That said, for not too much more cash you can go for a junior suite, which in our opinion is the more desirable option. These offer the same facilities but have the added attraction of an extra large, stylishly furnished living room.
Room service is available and maid service takes place every day.
