Directions to the Black Tulip
From Schiphol-Amsterdam Airport:
by taxi: fare approx. 50 EURO one way, depending upon traffic; just give the taxi driver our street address. The name Black Tulip Hotel will not mean anything to most drivers, given our low-key profile (and we like to keep it that way!).

by train: there is an efficient railway connection between the Airport Terminal Building (station entry below street level) and the Amsterdam Central Railway Station (with a few stops in between). The journey takes approx. 25 minutes and runs frequently during the day (particularly during rush hours, when this connection is much faster than by taxi). In the very early mornings and late evenings the frequency of trains can be low. Fare: less than 4 EURO p.p. one way.

From Amsterdam Central Railway Station:
on foot: it's a three minute walk to the Black Tulip. Take the main station exit which brings you onto the station square. Turn left and walk along the station building (this is direction east); cross the open-air bus terminal area which brings you to a bridge on your right hand side. Cross this bridge (if possible without being hit by a tram/streetcar or by one of the many cyclists) and you are facing a few coffeeshops. At the corner is the beginning of our street, just in between restaurant "Guadeloupe" and a small round medieval tower. Turn right onto the Geldersekade before crossing the canal. We are located on the right hand side of the canal, at no. 16.

by taxi: if you have too much luggage to carry you'll find a taxi rank outside the station building (a bit to the right when you exit the station). Although drivers typically won't like this short drive, they can't refuse to take you. The drive will take you longer than walking because of a one-way system and the many traffic lights.
