Located right on the Vara Del Rey, Ibiza center - the main square near the Port of Ibiza Town, this is historically the first hotel ever to be opened in Ibiza.
Steeped in history, the buildings façade keeps its original structure and shuttered look. Inside, it is a maze of winding corridors and randomly placed rooms. Some of the rooms have views over the square.
The hotel is an old building, dating back to the 1930s but, thankfully, has undergone a recent renovation since then, although its original charm and character has been maintained. There are 55 rooms in total at the hotel, decorated in a traditional Spanish style offering a harmonious setting and coming complete with en suite facilities, air conditioning, direct dial telephone, room safe, satellite TV and a private balcony. Breakfast is taken at the Café Montesol - one of the most popular meeting points in Ibiza and one where you can sit and watch the world go by.
There is a café at the hotel, serving a simple yet tasty selection of snacks, light meals and refreshments throughout the day. The reception is open 24-hours a day, making this the perfect hotel for holidaymakers who want to get out and explore – while the facilities are not extensive, its location and level of comfort offered means it does the job of offering a great place to stay with a minimum of fuss. Nearby there are a number of shops, bars and restaurants with Talamanca Beach two kilometres away – a pleasant stroll during the summer.
The Montesol could not be better-located for holidaymakers hoping to experience everything this island has to offer. From the vibrant nightlife and stunning beaches to rural villages and breathtaking landscapes, the Montesol hotel offers an affordable base from which to explore the lot.
