 This huge, opulent palace of a hotel, although just a few years old, has become the hotel of choice for gay holidaymakers who prefer the finer things in life and who don't want to compromise their high standards just because they're on holiday.
Situated just 300 metres from the sandy beach at Meloneras and about a ten minute car journey from Playa del Ingles, Yumbo Centre & gay bars, the gay & lesbian friendly Lopesan Villa del Conde Resort Hotel & Corallium Thalasso is thoughtfully decorated throughout, offers impeccable service and provides a luxurious environment in an easily accessible location. Cabs are plentiful so there really is no need to worry about going into town at any time of the day or night, although there are a few pleasant bars and restaurants in Meloneras itself for when you don't fancy facing the fleshpots of Playa del Ingles.
The hotel's style reflects the traditional Canarian architecture, highlighted by the impressing reception lobby, a genuine adaptation of one of the most ancient and traditional Gran Canarian churches, with two towers, bell tower and central dome.
General Facilities
The lobby bar is just one of the hotel's five distinct bars, which include a lounge bar with live music, a dedicated beer bar and a snack bar. Other facilities include 34,000 square metres of tropical gardens, home to the hotel's five swimming pools (three of which can be heated in Winter and one of which is saltwater).
There's an artificial beach, two Jacuzzis, a tennis court, golfing, a snooker room, a couple of excellent restaurants and a gym, while the Wellness Centre, offering a massive range of indulgent treatments, is said to be one of the best on the island.
The hotel offers 4 restaurants: buffet-style restaurant, restaurant (snack-café), Á-la-carte restaurant (with previous reservation), barbecue grill restaurant with salad bar in the pool area and room service. Half board consists of breakfast and dinner, both served at the buffet restaurant. The hotel offers 5 bars with different ambiences: The Lobby Bar situated in the entrance hall is the ideal meeting point. The Lounge Bar located in the central building is the ideal place to dance and enjoy a drink at night.
At the central square the hotel guests will find the beer pub and the Bar El Patio (tea & coffee specialties) with the Internet Café. During daytime there is a pool bar at the guests' disposal.
